Suffolk Cops Nab Drug Dealers – But Not Mine

March 27, 2008 · 3 Comments

According to Newsday two drug dealers were recently arrested in East Northport. They were nabbed in the home of one, dealing out of the house. Sounds familiar

Two men were arrested Friday afternoon by Suffolk County police, who said they seized cocaine, marijuana, prescription drugs, and drug packaging paraphernalia.

After a three-week investigation, detectives with a search warrant went to 3 Lewis Ave. around 2:30 and arrested two men who they suspected of selling a variety of drugs there.

What is extremely disappointing about this is that their investigation took three weeks. I’ve been calling for 8 months. Something tells me that a police officer lives there or that this neighborhood is a little ritzier than mine.

And these bums weren’t just selling pot either! They were selling:

Detectives said they seized cocaine, Xanax, Adderall, Hyrdrocodone, hashish, marijuana and paraphernalia used to weigh and package the drugs. The placed the street value of the seized drugs at more than $1,000.

Christopher Mayhew, 16, of 3 Lewis Ave., East Northport and Gregory Trube, 18, of 80 Timber Point Drive, Northport were arrested on several drug possession charges, as well as criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree for a switchblade.

Evidently, this is the kind of thing the Suffolk Police think is just fine in our neck of the woods. 8 months? No problem. They always say, “You don’t know if we are or aren’t looking into this.” No, I don’t. I do see plenty of evidence of drug dealing though – the same evidence they’d see if they came around once in a while.
