Kitties and Fleas – Update

For those who want the update on our kitties and the fleas, I thought I’d give you one last entry. As you recall, we used the Advantage drops on the cats and turned them into kitty flea killers. After two weeks, I will say that this has been a success. The fleas jump to the cats and die on their backs. Though you may find the cats scratching at some point after the application, you will also find if you remove the flea causing the trouble that it is hours from death. Though you will still find a flea from time to time, any one you find on the cat is on its way to the next world.

One person asked in her comment what we’d do with the eggs laid on the cat. Evidently, according to the Advantage packaging, the eggs are killed too. Still, to be safe, our veterinarian gave us two applications to kil anything that was still around after 30 days. He told us that the fleas outdoors may want to come in when the cold hits, so to use the second dosage after the first frost. We haven’t applied the second application yet, and we’ve seen no living fleas in about 10 days. This stuff works. I hope that there will be no more updates.
